When a foaming cleaner is a concern or for applications utilizing enclosed spray wash cabinets, Blue Gold Spray Wash (BGSW) is your answer. While Blue Gold Spray Wash has many of the characteristics of Blue Gold Industrial Cleaner (BGIC), the major change is in its low-to-no foaming property.

Testing done by the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) gave Blue Gold the CGA's highest rating (for aqueous cleaners), a Cleaning Effectiveness Factor (*CEF) of 1.00. It was tested by immersion at a 5% solution for 10 minutes. The testing confirmed that with rinsing, Blue Gold is compatible with compressed gases. Many of the major compressed gas companies, Prax Air, Air Liquide and Air Products use and recommend Blue Gold.

Due to the same need for safety and O2 cleanliness, independent divers and diving instruction groups are using and recommending Blue Gold.

Today companies such as ANDI (American Nitrox Divers Institute), PADI (Professional Association of Divers International) and Aqua Lung have tested, approved and trained people in the proper way to use Blue Gold for cleaning of diving equipment.

For most dive-related applications, a 3% to 5% dilution is best. Agitation in some form must be provided and heated (140F) water is preferred. Since Blue Gold chemistry is such that it does not "eat" at contamination, it must have agitation to help it lift off the contaminant. The agitation can be in the form of a lint free cloth or swab, ultrasonic, agitated dip tank or hand wiping. Blue Gold has and can be used with ambient temperatures but be sure to provide good agitation to compensate for the lack of heated water. A MANDATORY agitated clean water rinse must follow every oxygen related cleaning.

Recently some tests were done on cleaning equipment that has been used in saltwater by an independent dive shop. They wanted to clean off saltwater corrosion and residue. They used various solutions and found using a 15% solution (1 part Blue Gold to 7 parts water) in an ultrasonic tank heated to 135F did an excellent job. They left the parts in for 10 minutes then followed with a clean water rinse.

Atomic Aquatics, a leading manufacturer of regulators, has found Blue Gold to be an excellent cleaner. They recommend the use of Blue Gold for their titanium and Monel regulators.

Blue Gold can be used to clean (inside and out) of both steel and aluminum diving tanks. It should be noted when cleaning steel tanks that you will want to use the hottest rinse possible to aide in a rapid air dry to prevent rusting. In many cases, nitrogen has been blown through to insure that the parts are dry and free from trapped moisture. Tests done by SMI in accordance with Aerospace Material Specification AP 1755A, shows Blue Gold to be safe when used on natural rubber, silicone rubber, neoprene and a variety of plastics.
In addition to its various uses in the oxygen/diving-related industry, Blue Gold has many other applications. MORGAN ENTERPRISES NORTHWEST can furnish you information on these various other uses. Blue Gold also has an indefinite shelf life, is non-toxic, non-corrosive and contains biodegradable ingredients providing you with a SAFE alternative.

**The CEF was determined by testing at an independent laboratory using ASTM protocol; ASTM G-121 Practices for Preparation of Contaminated Test Coupons for the Evaluation of Cleaning Agents for Use in Oxygen-Enriched Systems and Components and ASTM G122 Standard Test Method to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Cleaning Agents.

**Blue Gold has also been tested to ASTM G72-82, Standard Tests Method for Auto Genous Ignition Temperature of Liquids & Solids in a High-Pressure Oxygen Enriched Environment and ASTM D24076, Heat of Combustion.
